The sun gives the warmth that we need especially during the cold weather, but too much sun exposure is not good, especially on our skin. Hence, we recommend installing a solar film unto the windows of your home in order to minimize the heat that penetrates inside your abode.
With the many kinds of window films in Singapore, choosing the right film for your residential is essential. If your main reason for having it installed is to protect yourself and the valuable things inside, a solar film is best for you, as it reflects the heat coming from the sun.
However, this type of residential window film also comes in different varieties.
1. Dyed Films
Based on the name, this type of solar window film uses a layer of dyed adhesive polyester film that is applied to the inside of the window. It is also the cheapest way to tint the window; however, it fades over time.
2. Depositing Films
Though this film is considered as complex, depositing film is but an inexpensive process. The film is created through heating different kinds of metals like aluminum and nickel-chrome in a vacuum, in the presence of argon under pressure and high temperature. The thicker the coat layer the more effective it would be.
3. Sputtered Films
Contrary to the dyed films, sputtered films which involve the process of sputtering (hence the name) is the most expensive. The same with depositing films, this one uses a vacuum chamber the only difference is that the metallization process goes under atomic manipulation.
4. Hybrid Films
As to what hybrid means, this kind of film is made by both dye and reflective metal, which assures a quality film. Hybrid films significantly cut off the mirror effect without compromising the color of the window tint.
